My Top Anti-Aging Habits

With the passing of my 63rd birthday this past Friday, I was pondering the common narrative surrounding aging. The idea that once we hit a certain age “it’s all downhill” from there. We have been trained to expect a physical decline, cognitive decline, sexual decline, and more as the years pass. But I’d like to rewrite that script. Redefine what it means to age.


In my mind, it means a renewed sense of vibrancy, purpose, spontaneity, and mental clarity. It’s a time where we can take our years of experience and truly create the life of our dreams with agile bodies and sharp minds. With that said, here are just a few of the key things I do regularly to keep my mind and body in peak physical condition.


  • Safe Sun Exposure (daily)

  • 20 minutes minimum of sun exposure to support healthy hormone and vitamin D production.


  • Sleep Hygiene

  • No cell phone two hours before bed

  • Power down all Wi-Fi at night

  • Consistent sleep and wake schedule, even during weekends

  • No light exposure in the bedroom while sleeping


  • Emotional Well-Being


  • Meditation & affirmations (every morning)


Full-Being health is absolutely essential when it comes to aging gracefully and maintaining exuberance. This is why I focus on maintaining not just physical health, but mental and emotional health as well. For those feeling disheartened at the general outlook on aging, let’s redefine it together.
